Day 10: Aljezur to Rojil and Back. Feb 2019

Determined to have walked every step of the Vicentina Trail, albeit in a rather strange order, we decided to walk back to Rojil today to cover the km we had missed. As that was just an 8km walk we spent the morning chilling on the roof terrace with a new hostel friend, Italian Stefano / Dylan, (his name is Stefano but he wishes it were Dylan) writing, singing and listening to music in the sunshine with coffees and juice.

We headed off to Rojil at midday, with Dylan in tow, and hiked a pleasant walk to Rojil, the sun shining bright.

Dylan has a website back in Italy, offering language courses and self help type stuff. He tells us it is very successful and he has a lot of fans. He was following some life coach guru and had paid hundreds of dollars for an audio course that would teach him how to get the most from ‘reality’ and we listened to day 36’s lesson together. He was worried it would be too advanced for us but the main message mainly instructed us not to worry too much about jobs, money or careers, and to go with the flow and do what makes us happy. We felt we were one step ahead on that particular aspect of life! 🙂 The lesson ended with an exercise for each listener – to ask reality to help you achieve something and we each made our requests before finding a bar and enjoying our after walk beer.

We got a hitch home and cooked up a delicious bean and corn chilli with rice. The evening was, as usual, chilly, and we waited eagerly for Celsou to arrive and light our fire for the evening as non of us really knew how to do it. We do now…

Beginner’sGuide to lighting a fire…

We decided as we are so happy at Daguasoul we would sleep here again tomorrow, and walk the next stage without our backpacks, 22km down to ****** before hitching back. Dylan enjoyed his hike today and will join us tomorrow!
