A lazy day at Daguasoul, Aljezur… with a few domestic tasks thrown in, mainly washing clothes and preparing lunch for the great walk to Sagres over the next two days…

With time on our hands we formed a new plan!

When we have completed our Vicentina Trail and stood at the end of Europe, we will fly to the Azures.

This group of tiny islands sits 0ver 1500 km off the coast of Portugal and looks like paradise, a green paradise! The flights from Lisbon and Porto to the main island, Sao Miguel, were very reasonable averaging at about 70 Euro return with Ryanair. It low season and could be rainy but the weather forecast for the next week is pretty good, between 12 and 17 degrees, with night-time temperatures about the same, unlike here where the nights are cold!

The flights to and from Lisbon were at awkward times, arriving late on the outbound, and departing very early on the return, so we opted to travel up to Porto, which offered more reasonable flight times.

Yay! The rest day has been productive! We have a new adventure planned, but first we need to finish this one….
