Day 13: Carrapateira to Vila do Bispo. Feb. 2019

Jolien and I were out by 10am and hitched a lift no problem back to Carrapateira, ready to start our 22km walk to Vila do Bispo. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful walk, starting and ending with a steep climb…

We found a cute little village along the way which a cute picnic area for lunch in the sunshine.

Some people living in a big house out in the country had a sign inviting us to take a swim in a rather manky looking swimming tank. It seemed a nice gesture but we weren’t too tempted… Maybe it looks better in the summer.

Poor Jolien had a throbbing blister on her toe and found the last few km tough, but we eventually arrived in to the sleepy town of Bispo. Our hotel, Casa Mestre, offered a cute twin bed room with a balcony /ensuite and a shared kitchen for just 28 euros. It even had a lovely garden and pool area but it was not warm enough to try!

It was getting late so we had soup and wine at the local bar near the village church, and got an early night ready to walk to Sagres, the end of Europe, tomorrow!
