We made it to the end of the world! Or the arse of Europe as Celsou of Daguasoul Hostel called it! The walk from Vila do Bispo was not my favourite as the terrain was pretty similar all along it but that’s because I am completely spoiled by all the fantastic scenery that I have been seeing for days, week,s or actually months now! I mean it was still about a zillion times prettier than anything found in my home city of Birmingham!

The walk was only about 14km and took us along the coast until we came to the rocky cliffs of Cabo de SaoVicente. There were lots of camper vans and a few cars parked up with sightsee-ers out to take a stroll around and a pricey mobile bar. We took some time to admire the views across the Atlantic before paying our 2E50 for a well earned bottle of Super Bock.

With no bus from here and a long walk to Sagres we started to hitch and got back to Daguasoul in 3 hops where the hostel owners, Celsou and Sofia, were waiting for us with an invite to wine and dinner at their place. A lovely evening was spent with great company and delicious food – a fantastic way to spend our last night at our favourite hostel. We will miss them both (and our home from home) a lot but no doubt I’ll be back some time in the future to try out The Fisherman’s Trail!

The next day our new adventure began – the great trip to TheAzores. We had to hitch up to Porto first. We left Daguasoul with gifts of beautiful handmade soap from our lovely friends and had a feeling it was going to be a great trip when the first car to stop was playing our favourite song!!!!
