Day 9: Back to Porto… Feb 2019

Hikers that we are we walked to the airport. It was just 3.3km from the hostel, In53, and the weather had taken a turn for the better, no rain, blue skies and a bright, yellow sun overhead! We arrived in good time to check in and spent a boring hour and touring this teeny airport and it’s small assortment of gift shops and cafes before boarding our midday Ryanair flight to Porto. The wind was strong as we staggered across the tarmac to the plane, trying hard not to be blown away. Take off was turbulent as the high winds whipped us about but the cabin crew looked calm so it was obviously the norm for them. I wasn’t to keen and tried to think happy thoughts till we settled and the captain switched on the no seatbelts sign!

The journey flew by as I caught up with by blog writing and before I knew it we were back in Porto. A quick metro ride later we were at the Canvas Hostel in town and preparing for our next adventures! Me to walk the Camino de Santiago from Porto to Santiago de Compostela and Jolien to head back down to Lisbon ready to greet visiting friends and family!
