I said my Hasta Luegos to the Gull and she headed off to hitch her way to Lisbon. I enjoyed my chilled out home from home and made a delicious breakfast of french toast and strong coffee.

Liisa kept me informed of her progress with regular watsapps – she seemed to be making slow but steady progress with a succession of short hops. So slow was her progress that one guy actually picked her up twice during his morning routines! 🙂 After 11 or 12 hops she finally made it to Lisbon airport at 14:00, a healthy two hours before her flight, safe and sound, though she had experienced one dodgy hitch, being offered 40 euros in exchange for sexual favours! Next time I’m sending Charlie with her to remind her to never go anywhere with men or ladies you don’t know….
Liisa messaged later to say she was freezing her socks off in Estonia….

There’s not much to say about today. I just enjoyed Daguasoul, a bath, shopping for healthy fruit and vegetables, lazing in a hammock on the roof terrace….
And getting to know Sofia and Celsoe, the owners, and their beautiful dog, Buddy.

They are the sweetest most lovely people and their love for this place and their project is apparent in every nook and cranny of this haven of peace and tranquility…. They are working on opening a beach house for surfers down the road and a traditional Portuguese bistro in the building under the hostel. They have ambition but also obviously want to build their businesses with love and heart…. Respect!

Daguasoul…..
